“The painting depicts a Balinese man with his Suzuki Satria motorcycle. It was created on the island of Bali. The idea behind the work is to convey a different Bali — not the tourist version, but the mystical, chaotic, calm, and joyful one as I perceive it. I aim to show Bali from the inside, revealing the everyday artifacts that shape this small paradise. For a Balinese person, a motorcycle is not only a hobby or a passion but an essential means of transportation — almost like ‘legs.’ There are not always sidewalks, and in some areas you simply cannot reach even a grocery store without a motorbike. Children can also be seen riding them.

The combination of pink and blue symbolizes the quintessence of madness and tranquility. It reflects the fascinating contrast between the calm nature of the people and the chaotic traffic, where road rules are often ignored. Through this contrast, I wanted to express the unique rhythm of the island and the emotional landscape of the person portrayed.
