In this work, the image of an expat is reimagined through the metaphor of a cat — a creature capable of adapting to a wide range of circumstances, maintaining independence, and finding its place even in an unfamiliar environment. Like cats, expats possess remarkable flexibility and inner resilience, though the path of adaptation is not equally easy for everyone.
The painting conveys a delicate balance between vulnerability and strength, solitude and curiosity, fear and the desire for new experiences. It is a story about those who leave the familiar behind to build a new life, and about the small inner predator within each of us — one that knows how to survive, observe, and gradually adapt to a new world.
